Kronika is a group of technologists, journalists, and activists dedicated to defending independent media and fighting authoritarian censorship worldwide by creating media archives.

    CAIMA is a permanent, digital repository of independent media from across Central America, anchored in the preserved archive of Guatemala’s elPeriódico. It also preserves the invaluable work of independent Central American journalists, in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Panama.

    With forty-three outlets and over two million documents available through the archive, RIMA is preserving the last two decades of independent Russian journalism and serves as a model of what can be done in countries undergoing drastic political change.

Threatened Scholars

GHEA21 is committed to academic freedom and the defense of threatened scholars, who have lost their academic positions or had to flee their home countries due to persecution for their views or identities. Threatened scholars are integrated in the scholarly and cultural life of their GHEA21 institution and the broader GHEA21 community.
